BWH Institute for the Neurosciences

BRI Neurosciences Research Center

Interdisciplinary Mini-Retreat and Poster Session

The BWH Institute for the Neurosciences and BRI Neurosciences Research Center will hold its first of a series of mini-retreats to foster the initiation of interdisciplinary projects by members of the basic, clinical, and translational neuroscience community at BWH. This retreat is open to investigators whose work relates to the nervous system. The afternoon will include a series of short talks covering three thematic areas and a poster session open to all topics and all members of the community. Our goal is to illustrate the extent of cross-departmental investigations and to foster a sense of community in the neurosciences.

The poster session will include cash awards for the top two posters in each of three categories: basic research, clinical research, and translational research. In each category, there will be a first place winner ($1000) and a second place winner ($500). Posters on any topic relating to the neurosciences will be accepted for presentation.

For this first retreat, a combination of longer talks outlining the scope of BWH research and shorter talks highlighting exciting examples of ongoing research will showcase the work of BWH investigators in three thematic areas:  Aging, Neuroinflammation and Sex Differences in the Brain. Other, key themes of BWH neuroscience research will be presented in future retreats.
